Beach Boutique

Rebena recently read a fashion blog about Club Monaco’s annual “Beach Boutique”.  We read that it was beyond amazing – full of rich textures, with a big hints of edginess, all inspired by the bohemian spirit.

It’s been a long time since Rebena has stepped into a Club Monaco but I cannot tell you how super delighted we were when wandered inside.

This seasons theme felt very bohemian beach with a minimalist yet luxurious approach.

Although the luxury aspect has always been Club Monaco staples: cashmere and silks in muted tones or suede in tailored silhouettes.

Rebena’s visit felt so fresh with a heap of details that balanced itself perfectly between edgy and ’70s boho.

To put things simply, Club Monaco you’re killing it!

I can smell the salt water and feel the sunshine.  Take me to the beach already…

Skinny Dippin’

As August winds down be sure to give summer one last kiss goodbye with a skinny dipping romp.  There’s something kinda spiritual about skinny dipping.   It’s a rare, summertime transgression against everyday mores that is too small to cause anyone any real harm and yet big enough to remind you that you’re alive.

Double-dared to skinny dip and extremely shy?  I cannot offer any better advice than to suck it up, strip down, and surrender to the spontaneity of the experience. The amazing feeling of freedom you will get far exceeds the risk.

In Ontario, right now is just about the perfect time for a skinny dipping adventure.  The water temperature is perfect.  You can swim out past the waves, lie back like a starfish, and just float in that top current of water.  There’s really nothing like it.

Rebena has been spending Spring nights watching vintage flicks.  So far Rebena’s favorite flick has been a comedy from 1968 called The Party, featuring Peter Sellers.  After coming across this magical photograph of Ava Gardner and Burt Lancaster, Rebena will be sharing a bowl of popcorn with The Killers tonight!  This 1946 American film noir is based on the short story of the same name by Ernest Hemingway. The film stars Burt Lancaster in his film debut.  We’d love to hear your vintage flick picks!  Please let us know what we should be watching in the comments below.
