It’s Monday, which means it’s the weekend for us Filthy gals. Hooray!! What are we up to on our night off? Surfing our favorite fashion and sustainability blogs for loads of inspiration of course. We came across an intriguing article from one of our favorite 90’s fashion icons and environmental activist, Alicia Silverstone. She posted some interesting information on the topic of synthetic clothing and something that has never crossed our minds, microfiber pollution. Huh! Filthy Rebena Vintage and the amazing folks at the McIntosh Gallery will be teaming up to bring your old clothing back to life. This is a great opportunity to do your bit to use less of the planet’s resources. Please bring one item only to repair.
There will also be a Filthy Rebena pop-up. We will be bringing with us a bunch of our cozy fall favourites that you can snatch up right on the spot. We will only be accepting cash at the pop-up, and will still be doing our BOGO 50% off student promo for all the Filthy goods at the gallery. Any special requests, feel free to DM us on instagram the day before, because campus delivery will give you more time to hit the books!
Not only that but there will be a button making station so you can liven up your favourite jean jacket. Alternatively you can purchase a gently used one at the pop-up.

Champion is an iconic sportswear brand that has seen a huge revival in recent years. In the 1980s and 1990s it was common to see people of all ages from kids to adults wearing Champion sweatshirts. Here are 10 fun facts about Champion sportswear:
1. The company was originally established as Knickerbocker Knitting Company by Abe and Bill Fainbloom in 1919 in Rochester, New York. Champion turns 100 years old in 2019!
2. Champion produced uniforms for all NBA teams during the 1990s, and some NFL teams during the 1980s and 1990s.
3. Champion was the official outfitter for the USA Basketball Men’s Senior National Team, who competed in the historical 1992 Olympics in Barcelona, Spain. Commonly known as the “Dream Team”, this group of players went on to win the Gold Medal and this helped Champion establish their reputation as a powerhouse sportswear brand in Europe.
